# RPG a Day 2023 - Day 26: Favorite Character Sheet? tags: #thoughts/RPGaDay/2023 ![[RPGaDay2023.png]] I am not a character sheet guy. I generally find overengineered character sheets to lead to too much focus on the wrong parts of the buttons and levers. It usually indicates a game which has been poorly engineered for straightforward expressivity. If you can put the character sheet on a 3 x 5 card, I'm generally happy. Normally I'd cite [[Wushu]] here but I'm going to go with the [[5150 - New Beginnings|5150: New Beginnings]] character sheet instead. ![[Pasted image 20230826003624.png|300]] Now, that character sheet is deceptive. There are literally five lines that are worth knowing, and the rest is just record-keeping space for jotting things down as you go – plus the rest of your party each get one line each, because that's all it takes to really specify a character. Simplicity. No fancy graphics. Just the facts, ma'am.
