# RPG a Day 2023 - Day 23: Coolest Looking RPG Product / Book? tags: #thoughts/RPGaDay/2023 ![[RPGaDay2023.png]] I have picked up a number of RPG books in their limited, special editions purely because I wanted the art. I admit it. I'm not too proud. But I have two answers for this because there's two aspects that I need to talk about: Firstly, purely in terms of art and that art's quality is **[[Lancer]]**. Beautiful. I would take any piece in that book and accept it as full-size portraiture. Any day of the week. Absolutely stunning. ![[Pasted image 20230823003547.png]] Secondly, something that I see far less often than beautiful artwork is beautiful layout. I know that the quality of book layout has been increasing steadily even for low budget, indie productions over the last couple of decades and it's something that I, as someone who has laid out more than a couple of books, really appreciate. Without a question, no hesitation, bar none, the layout in **[[Ironsworn - Starforged|Ironsworn: Starforged]]** is the best, most attractive, clearest that I've seen in quite a while. ![[Pasted image 20230823003749.png]]
