# RPG a Day 2023 - Day 22: Best secondhand purchase? tags: #thoughts/RPGaDay/2023 ![[RPGaDay2023.png]] You might, and with good reason, think that my answer here would be **[[Living Steel]]**, which is one of my finest and favorite old games which I am still trying to collect the supplements for. But that's not my best purchase. That actually goes to **[[Other Suns]]**. ![[Pasted image 20230822003622.png]] I would show you my copy, but it's in rough enough shape that I don't take it out of storage. It's a book that was obviously well loved and well used, so it's tucked away. Why is it one of my best purchases? Well, for one it is extremely rare. Finding a good copy is tough. There weren't that many printings of it in the first place and that was 1984. For another, it's actually one of the earliest games which involve furries, and while anthropomorphic animals and those who fancy them catch a lot of flak online, I've been involved with the community for a very long time. It's rare, it's unusual, it's a literal part of game development history, and honestly – that's enough for me. ![[Pasted image 20230822003701.png]]
