Something for Thanksgiving. I've known about/been a peripheral part of the [[Vampire - the Masquerade|Vampire: the Masquerade]] community since the game was released. Once upon a time, I wrote for the company. While they aren't my favorite supernatural, they are one of the predators of the night which lurk around in the back of my head and always have as an important narrative piece of modern horror fiction. (Of the [[World of Darkness]] selection, I prefer [[Wraith the Oblivion|Wraith: the Oblivion]]. Particularly Specters. Think about that all you want.) I've never been a serious collector of vampire-themed media but it's impossible to be a geek without them working their way into your pile of goods. I haven't gone out of my way to buy any vampire-themed media (or games) in quite a long time. I decided to throw a few bucks at [[Elegy]] because the idea intrigued me. My collection of solo/co-op games is getting significant. I love [[Ironsworn]]. The fact that like in **Ironsworn**, in **Elegy** you start by constructing your world/setting which is unique to you… That was the closer. It's pay-what-you-want. That was the clincher. If you want to drop $0 on it, you can. If you want to drop $500 on it, you can. Feel like you have you would like to write something and like the vampire concept? Pickup **Elegy**. Looking for a game that you can just sort of scribble along with, roll a few dice, and explore the world inside your head? Pick it up.
