Your moment of RPG inspiration (and ironically, one of the best pieces of actual investigative journalism I've seen from a mainstream publication in many years).
What happened to the Georgia Guidestones?

Now, you may not know anything about the Georgia Guidestones, and that would be perfectly reasonable unless you are a conspiracy geek or happen to live in North Georgia. If you're both—well, it's probably something you've already figured out and been following for the last multiple decades.
But nonetheless, excellent videography and investigation.
You may wonder why this is a moment of RPG inspiration. The answer is multifold.
Firstly, there aren't too many granite slabs inscribed with pro-eugenics messages in northern Georgia. So thinking about how and why and conspiratorial/supernatural connections gets kind of obvious.
Secondly, there's something more subtle. Listen to the inhabitants of Elberton talk about how little they actually think about the Georgia Guidestones, where they were, what they were, and what happened to them. There is nothing so strange that the locals can't shrug at it as utterly mundane.
If you ever wondered how an infestation of vampires or aliens or any other outre thing might get passed off, here you go. You don't even need a large conspiracy. The technocracy doesn't have to be working behind the scenes. Delta Green doesn't have to show up. The MIB don't have to erase minds. People just shrug and go on with their lives. Simultaneously, people everywhere will remember it. Regardless, there is nothing that the technocracy could do to erase the knowledge of humanity. Delta Green doesn't have a certain number of servers that they have to take out or people to threaten. The MIBs can't wipe everyone's mind. Knowledge is diffuse. The secret is that there is no secret.
The best hidden things are lying in fields. Someone will always be obsessed with the mystery.
Do with that what you will.
