# Swing Wide the Doors: Grim Tokens Is Ready to Drag You to Hell

It's been a long time coming (six months, in fact), and not all of it excusable as focused work, but grim tokens is finally up to experience the public eye and hopefully do its job as a place where interesting things happen, interesting things get seen, and maybe you learn a little more than you did before you arrived.
This is not a learning opportunity, however. This is a [[digital-garden|digital garden]], cultivated by my own interests in tabletop [[role-playing games]] and [[wargame|wargames]] – and if I simply can't help myself, video games, but I'll try and resist the urge. You should find my random thoughts growing here, possibly intertwining, feeding one another, and turning into a mighty shrub.
Feel free to poke around at things that have already been created and are waiting for your fascination! As you can see on the left, there is a fairly large and interconnected set of nodes already in place, little plots where ideas are growing. Enjoy them.
2024 is going to start with a thing-a-week competition, in this case *creating a character a day every day in January.*
[[Character Creation Challenge|There's already a page set up for that link which will collect everything as a back link to it]] as well as a hashtag ( #thoughts/CharacterCreationChallenge/2024 ) . I'll try to be attentive to making sure that new posts get LinkedIn all the appropriate social media places, but if that's just too big a pain in the ass, you can guarantee I'll be posting a link [on Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/SquidLord) and one to [my Mastodon account](https://social.vivaldi.net/@lextenebris) at the very least, so follow in those places for sure.
Ultimately, if there's enough interest, I'll create a Page on Facebook or a Discord/Gilded channel for *Grim Tokens* but… We'll see. I might be the only person that reads this stuff.
Until then – let the doors be thrown wide, the light stream out, and screams lubricate throats because this machine is in motion.
