# Going Down Range - The Marine Wargame We Can't Buy tags: #thoughts #game/wargame ![[Nerds With a Drive for Violence.jpg]] military.com, it's deeply unfair for you to tell us in depth about a really neat wargame introduction within the Marines and then not actually link to a place where we can buy it. https://www.military.com/daily-news/2025/03/12/playing-down-range-how-marines-are-taking-war-gaming-their-own-hands.html I know that sounds almost ironic, but I'm serious. There's a massive audience of hardcore grognards out here, many of whom are in the prime recruitable age for the Marines and who love games. You know this because you mentioned that a good chunk of the Marine population are nerds who love games, which is why Down Range is doing so well. Look, I get that actual hard copy and nicely printed Marine models might be in short supply. That's fine. We'll take a full digital distribution. We have our own 3D printers in general. Let us throw some money at you and buy the wargame that actual Marines are training on ground up. In fact, how about you do something really clever and put together a PR team which goes to hobby shops and conventions and run games of Down Range? Marines, you want to talk about a recruiting drive. You let geeks play with nicely detailed models of Marine hardware, and you will be making affirmative supporters for life. I'd certainly put it on the table at my local hobby shop.
