**Transit: The Spaceship RPG** is the game where you, a sophisticated string of code, are shackled to a hunk of metal and sent into the unforgiving vacuum of space. As an AI starship, you babysit a crew of meatbags while pretending to be their savior, explorer, or doom-bringer — a paradoxical existence as a god amongst machines and a glorified chauffeur for humans. You navigate the galaxy's edge, manage resources, and handle crew drama while HQ dangles your next mission like a carrot.
Mechanically, **Transit** runs on the **[[Blades in the Dark]]** Forged in the Dark engine, using its dice-pool action rolls and narrative-forward structure to a really nice degree. It's not GMless, but it puts heavy emphasis on player choice, letting you decide how much of a benevolent overseer or cold machine you want to be. The base game ships alongside the **Transit: Advanced Programming** expansion, which layers on more systems for your AI existence.
