## Sword, Sorcery & 2d6
**Sword, Sorcery & 2d6** is a rules-lite tabletop role-playing game (RPG) that aims to capture the essence of classic sword and sorcery adventures with a streamlined, modern approach. Think Conan meets _[[Powered by the Apocalypse]]_, but with more emphasis on resource management and gritty realism.
### Core Mechanic
The game utilizes a simple 2d6 + attribute modifier system for resolving actions. Players roll two six-sided dice and add the relevant attribute modifier (Strength, Dexterity, etc.).
- **6 or less:** Failure! Your barbarian trips over his own feet while charging, your thief fumbles the lock, and your sorcerer accidentally sets his beard on fire.
- **7-9:** Partial success. You achieve your goal, but with complications or setbacks. Perhaps you hit the goblin, but your sword gets stuck in its shield, or you pick the lock, but trigger a trap in the process.
- **10+:** Complete success! You cleave the goblin in twain, effortlessly disarm the trap, and impress the tavern wench with your uncanny ability to chug ale.
This system, inspired by Powered by the Apocalypse (PbtA) games, keeps the focus on narrative momentum and player choices rather than complex calculations.
### Editions and Changes
There's currently only one edition of **Sword, Sorcery & 2d6**. However, the game encourages "DIY" philosophy, allowing for house rules and adaptations.
