# Steelforged tags: #game/rpg/steelforged #game/rpg/starforged ![[Steelforged (cover).jpg|600]] **Steelforged** is SpiderSandals' sprawling collection of unofficial **high-fantasy** oracles for **[[Ironsworn - Starforged|Starforged]]** — a reskin rather than a hack, and the hobby's answer to the complaint that the sci-fi engine has everything except a proper fantasy wardrobe. It's a fat 182-page oracle library for grafting questing-knights fantasy onto the sworn-vow chassis, and its own intro cheerfully admits the whole thing is meant to be grafted: you can ignore nearly all the non-oracle prose and still get a decent high-fantasy feel. ## Setting The default flavor is a fallen, post-*Collapse* realm. The **Steelforged** were legendary smiths whose magical **silversteel** once shaped and ran civilization — its secret techniques lost after the Collapse — and vows sworn on Steelforged artifacts are treated as unbreakable. Wars are fought over the surviving legendary artifacts said to hold great magic. The book is more a bag of ingredients than a fixed world: its region and plane oracles let you assemble a whole high-fantasy cosmos — **Fey**, **Shadow**, **Infernal**, **Abyssal**, **Astral**, **Elemental**, **Nature**, **Ethereal**, **Divine**, and **Elder** planes — rather than dropping you into a single kingdom. ## Mechanics The **Starforged** action roll is untouched; the substance is a mountain of oracles. It augments the core narrative oracles (**Action/Theme/Descriptor/Focus**, plus **Activity**, **Context**, and **Target**), adds an overland exploration engine with **landforms**, **terrains**, **regions**, and **exploration perils and opportunities**, then reaches for the fantastic: a full **magic** oracle suite (**Conjuration**, **Enchantment**, **Divination**, **Necromancy**, **Illusion**, and **Power**), **wild flora** and **trees**, and quest, legend, rumor, and goal-and-approach tables. Planar travel gets its own procedures for poking between worlds.
