# Necropolis: Atlanta tags: #game/rpg/wraith ![[Necropolis - Atlanta (cover).jpg|600]] **Necropolis: Atlanta** is the regional sourcebook that gives **[[Wraith the Oblivion|Wraith: The Oblivion]]** — and, for crossover play, **[[Vampire - the Masquerade|Vampire: The Masquerade]]** — a city of its own. Atlanta is known among the living as a center of culture and industry; the Restless see a city of smoldering ruins and divided loyalties, forever shaped by the day Sherman put it to the torch. Its cover art, by Gerald Brom, was good enough to inspire Shane Lacy Hensley to design *Deadlands*. ## Setting Atlanta is a city burned and reborn, and its Underworld carries the scars. The book roots the Necropolis in the city's history — from before the European settlers, through the American Civil War and Sherman's burning of Atlanta in 1864, and into the fights for civil rights that remade the living city — and fills it with a tangle of dead factions. The **Hierarchy** rules much of the Necropolis, but the **Renegades** (the Greyboys, the Confederate-loyal Dragon-Sons) and a menagerie of Heretic cults churn beneath it: **The Burning** (which feeds Thralls to Oblivion to keep the Spectral Hellfires at bay), the **Hearse Riders**, the **Chain**, and the **Seekers of Paradise**, who hunt the lost path to Transcendence along the rail lines where the Midnight Express stops. It's also a crossover book — the city's vampires have a Prince, a Justicar, and a Sabbat problem — and the looming 1996 Olympics promise to drag representatives of the Dark Kingdoms of Jade, Ivory, and Obsidian into town. ## Mechanics It's the same **Storyteller System** d10 dice pool as the core games, with the setting doing the work.
