**Ironsworn: Winterhall** is Caleb Plew's compact fan supplement answering the hobby's eternal "you know what this open-world fantasy engine needs?* a house" urge — it lets your **[[Ironsworn]]** character actually put down roots in the Ironlands, to have a home to fight for whether you built it, were accepted by it, or took it by force. It assumes your character is a person of note with a degree of authority, not a simple resident — because apparently even the sworn-vow solo engine wasn't going to let you just rent. It's an early and influential take on settlement play, and the supplement **Ironsworn: Reign** explicitly cites as its inspiration.
Design-wise it's bracingly lean: the core mechanic is a single new move, **Endure Winter**, and the governing philosophy is that **the settlement is just assets** — no extra sheets, no sprawling subsystem. The winter survival move carries the weight, turning the harsh Ironlands season into the thing your fledgling home has to survive, which fits where the book sits: a fell wind from the Icereaches, a harsh winter predicted, and a hamlet like Highmount that has to endure it. Small, table-friendly, and quietly foundational in the Ironsworn settlement-supplement lineage.
