Two Hour Wargames' werewolf game, which is a polite way of saying "this is what Happens after the moon comes up." **High Moon** — and its **Dead Reckoning** edition — is a man-to-man monster game on the Reaction System, where the man you were arguing with is now the thing that's obviously dead, out of the fight, and coming back for your throat. The In Sight test stops being a courteous "who shoots first" and becomes "who survives the turn."
## Setting
High Moon is the full-moon-adjacent end of the THW catalogue: werewolves, monster fights, and small-town terror. It's man-to-man scale, so the fiction is the encounter — the pack, the hunt, the thing at the door — resolved one reaction test at a time. Think of it as the horror cousin of the line's military and pulp games, trading bullet counts for claw counts.
## Mechanics
The **Chain Reaction / THW Reaction System** underneath: **Reputation**, **2d6 taken-versus-Rep**, the reaction tables for shooting, melee, and nerve, and damage states like **Out of the Fight** and **Return Fire** that read a little differently when the thing on the other side doesn't stay down. It's the same engine as the rest of THW's line, just with fur and a bloodier moon.
## Editions
- **High Moon** — by Ed Teixeira; the library holds the **Dead Reckoning** edition (2015). *In the library.*
**High Moon** is a **[[Two-Hour Wargames]]** game by **Ed Teixeira** from the same [[Chain Reaction|Reaction System]] family as the rest of the line.
