Two Hour Wargames' sci-fi adventure game, and a chance to say that "future tales" without rolling your eyes at the title's optimism. **Future Tales** — by Jay Mackesy — runs the THW Reaction System at pulp-science-fiction scope: disk-ships settling out of cloudbanks on landing gear like table legs, alien artifacts, and the long frontier of space where the reaction test decides if you make first contact or a smear on it.
## Setting
There's no fixed galaxy; the fiction is the encounter. The book drops you into a pulpy sci-fi frontier where ships descend, aliens show up, and every meeting is a question of who flinches first. It's the THW engine doing its usual trick — you never know what's over the next hill (or light-year) until the reaction roll tells you whether you're negotiating or fighting for your life.
## Mechanics
Standard **Chain Reaction / THW Reaction System**: **Reputation**, **2d6 taken-versus-Rep**, the **In Sight** reaction test standing in for turn order, and the reaction tables that decide whether a human (or alien) holds its nerve. It's the same man-to-man core as the rest of the line, just pointed at ray guns and starships instead of longbows and blasters.
