# Follow tags: #game/rpg/follow ![[Follow (cover).jpg]] ![[Follow - A New Fellowship (cover).jpg]] **Follow** is a game where you and your friends embark on epic quests, like slaying dragons, curing diseases, or, you know, getting your candidate elected. It’s a GM-less game, so everyone gets to share the spotlight and the blame when things go horribly wrong. ## Core Die Resolution Mechanics In **Follow**, you don’t roll dice. Instead, you draw stones from a bag to determine the outcome of your challenges. Each challenge has a mix of white and red stones. White stones mean success, while red stones mean failure. The more you argue and bicker, the more red stones get added to the bag. So, basically, the game makes things more exciting when you're a dysfunctional group of heroes. Fun, right? ### Editions The original edition of **Follow** set the stage for these collaborative quests. The newer edition, **Follow: A New Fellowship**, includes streamlined rules and additional quests, like tackling an election. Because nothing says “epic adventure” like political campaigning. ## References - [Follow » Lame Mage Productions](https://www.lamemage.com/follow/) - [Follow - Lame Mage Productions | DriveThruRPG.com](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/413338/Follow) - [Follow by Ben Robbins | Goodreads](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36043395-follow) - [Follow by Ben Robbins — Kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lamemage/follow-0) > [!note] Editor's Note > > Neurothrope is a little bit snarky, but he's not wrong. **Follow** is an absolutely fantastic game with straightforward minimalist mechanics, a traditional idea of a group of people playing together — it's definitely not a solo game — and a tight core concept. > > Also of note is that **Follow: A New Fellowship** is effectively giving you all the same mechanics as the original **Follow**, but without as much discussion or conversation about why things are as they are, or how you can use them, and with only five of the setup scenarios rather than all 18. It's also extremely free, as in, you can have it right now and start playing 15 minutes for free.
