Lovecraft and David Cronenberg had a brainstorming session. You're not just battling monsters; you're surviving in the **Fleshlands**, a living, breathing (and probably drooling) entity of bone, skin, cartilage, and meat. Players form a tribe and choose which grotesque monstrosity to poke with a sharp stick next, in a world that's a cross between a meat grinder and an acid trip. Mechanically, **Fleshscape** runs a simplified, efficient, player-facing system that sits firmly in the **[[Blades in the Dark]]** lineage — a lean d6 dice pool where you roll dice equal to your trait (**Brain, Muscle, or Guts**) and each **4+** counts as a success against a difficulty. It's the FitD engine stripped to its essence: compact, player-facing, and free. Character creation is more roleplaying than roll-playing, with survival triggers, crafting from the Fleshlands' resources, and an exploding-dice rule for good measure. All of it fits in seven pages, which is frankly impressive. ## References - [Fleshscape - DriveThruRPG](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/205832/Fleshscape) - [Emanuele Galletto's Portfolio - Fleshscape RPG](https://roosterema.artstation.com/projects/vR8Ax)
