**Fiasco** is a cooperative storytelling game that's inspired by cinematic tales of small-time capers gone disastrously wrong. Players create characters and scenarios filled with ambition, jealousy, and poor impulse control, leading to unintended consequences.
## Summary
The game is GM-less and typically plays out in about two to three hours. Players create and act out darkly comedic, often disastrous scenarios that are reminiscent of films like "Fargo" or "Burn After Reading."
## Core Die Resolution Mechanics
In **Fiasco**, players use a pool of six-sided dice in two colors (usually white and black) to build relationships, needs, locations, and objects. During the game, players take turns setting up scenes, with outcomes determined by dice rolls. Positive outcomes are marked with white dice, negative outcomes with black dice.
At the end of the game, players roll the dice they have collected to see how their characters end up, for better or worse. The mechanics emphasize storytelling, creativity, and collaboration over traditional RPG tactics.
