# Agon: Endeavour tags: #game/rpg/agon-endeavour ![[Agon - Endeavour (cover).jpg|600]] **Agon: Endeavour** is Michael Purcell's third-party **[[Paragon]]**-system playset, and the rare one that keeps the engine but wanders far from the mythic sea — a sci-fi campaign stranded aboard a city-sized starship carrying an entire civilization in stasis. It runs on the same contest machinery as **[[Agon]]**, then adds a campaign-level track of its own so that a single adventure leaves a mark on the story long after the dice stop. ## Setting The heroes are aboard **Sendiv**, a city-sized spaceship that travels a galaxy-spanning circuit, preserving the **Sendivians** in stasis while it's underway — each leg of the journey takes many years. Sendiv is a city-ship, an opulent luxury liner of staggering scale run by an artificial intelligence, and the crew finds itself reluctant to leave: the Sendivians have always welcomed travelers in for a night of revelry and then parted as friends, so why does Sendiv so insistently keep the ship's guests on board? Arrayed around it are **The Maelstrom** (d12, turbulent, confusing, violent) and the charismatic mayor of the stasis-city, **Tzaarn** — beautiful, charming, intelligent — each with a web of **mysteries** that spin out across the playset. ## Mechanics The engine is Agon/Paragon as usual — die-rated characters, Domain-flavored contests, opponent pools (a d12 Maelstrom, a d8 mayor with a stack of d10s and d8s). The distinguishing addition is **The Vault of Heaven**: a campaign tracker for how the crew's actions affect their relationships with the **Civilizations** they encounter. Approve of a civilization and earn a mark of **Favor**; cross it and earn **Wrath**.
