It's a hack for Blades in the Dark, so you need that book to play, and the rules here rename, expand, and modify the FitD engine for a world of gunslingers, outlaws, and supernatural doom teeming out of demon-infested mines. Think *Deadlands* meets *Blades in the Dark*, but with more demons and less historical accuracy. The core is the same Forged in the Dark action roll: roll a d6 pool equal to your action rating and take the highest die — a **6** is a full success, **4/5** a partial success with a cost, **1–3** a failure — with position and effect, stress, and resistance all intact. On top it layers Weird West trappings: **Hellstone**, **Grit**, **Ablass**, **Stigmata**, **Doom**, and the **Riders of the Apocalypse**, all adding thematic depth to the gunslinging-and-humanity struggle against impending doom. It's a single-edition game (2020) with no confusing rewrites. ## References - [A Fistful of Darkness - DriveThruRPG](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/307391/a-fistful-of-darkness) - [A Fistful of Darkness - Weird West Hack of BitD - Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/bladesinthedark/comments/a9sfos/a_fistful_of_darkness_weird_west_hack_of_bitd/) - [A Fistful of Darkness is a near perfect hack for Blades - Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/bladesinthedark/comments/vy9cmn/a_fistful_of_darkness_is_a_near_perfect_hack_for/)
