The name is the pitch: one force is the hammer that hits and the other is the anvil it hits against, and the book gives you the vehicles to be either. ## Setting Your role is in the turret: a vehicle commander working with a small crew rather than a squad of infantry. The crew and the machine are the unit — a **Four Man Crew** for the big things, a **Shorthanded Crew** when the roster thins and you run it short — and the fiction is the usual 5150 war, now fought one armored hull at a time. ## Mechanics The **THW Reaction System** at vehicle scale: **Reputation**, **taken-versus-Rep** 2d6, reaction tests, and **PEFs** keeping it solo- and same-side-friendly. ### The crew Tanks need hands, and the book treats them properly: **Stars** and **Grunts** with Reps, attributes, and **Jobs** that put each crewman somewhere useful, all the way to **Gaea Prime Loaders** when you want the full complement. ### The vehicle The machine is defined by its **Vehicle Type** — tracked, wheeled, or grav — whether it's **open-topped or enclosed** (and how often it's **buttoned up**), an **Armor Rating**, weapons (a **Main Gun** plus **Secondary Weapons**), speed, and crew needs. **Vehicle Lists** and **Company** organization string them together into forces you can actually maneuver. ## Editions - **5150: Hammer & Anvil** (2017) — the standalone armor/vehicle game, by **Ed Teixeira**. *In the library.* ## Supplements *In the library.* - **Hammer & Anvil – Mechs** (2017) — the mecha expansion, adding mechs to the Hammer & Anvil armor game. ## References - [5150 – Two Hour Wargames](https://www.twohourwargames.com/) - [5150 – Sci-Fi Games — Rebel Minis Press](https://rebelminispress.com/collections/sci-fi-games)
