Build the fleet, then lose pieces of it to the enemy — **5150: Fleet Commander** is the **[[5150 - Wargames]]** void-combat game that's all about the roster. Where Star Navy runs the broad fleet action, Fleet Commander hands you the faction fleet lists and the ship stat blocks (Class, Thrust, Hull, Firepower) and asks you to put a navy together and take it into battle, then build your story around how that goes.
## Setting
The navies of the 5150 universe's factions, laid out as fleet rosters to command: the **Gaea Prime Planetary Defense Force** (its Dreadnoughts, Carriers, Battleships, Heavy Cruisers, Destroyers, and Frigates), the **Merchants Command** (Freighters, Runners, Assault Ships), the **Pirates** (Galleons, Carracks, Raiders), and the other powers of the galaxy. It's the same universe as **[[5150 - Star Navy]]** — just framed as "here is the fleet; now command it."
## Mechanics
Fleet Commander runs the line's **THW Reaction System** on **taken-versus-Rep**, built around the ship stats (Class, Thrust, Hull, Firepower) that every fleet's roster repeats. It's a self-contained game — *"you will need a few things to play 5150: Fleet Commander"* — with the combat tables on a tight pair of pages (61–62) and "the rest used to build your Story": the mechanics resolve the fight, and the ongoing play turns it into a campaign you tell rather than just a battle you survive.
